Our Future

Fort Calgary will continue to evolve as part of a growing community. To help us achieve this, we have launched a $5.9 million dollar capital campaign. Funds will be used to restore the only remaining original buildings of the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) and Hudson’s Bay Company, expand the present Interpretive Centre, and to create replicas and interpretive exhibits of the 1875 Fort and the 1914 Calgary Barracks era.

We need to ensure the long-term protection and integrity of Fort Calgary’s facilities, boundaries, prairie landscape and programming by building a constituency within Calgary. We recognize that the financial, programming and land-management decisions we make today will have an impact on the future sustainability of Fort Calgary.
