| Our Present
Fort Calgary continues to play an active role in Calgary’s community. As Calgary’s only National, Provincial and Municipal historic site, the Fort is a symbolic touchpoint for our shared history. Today Fort Calgary offers a place to remember and celebrate our past while planning for the future.
Education is at the heart of everything we do. Our Visitor Centre and 40-acre park are open year round, with exhibits and award-winning programming designed to give Calgarians and their guests a hands-on experience of Calgary’s fascinating past. The Deane House Restaurant, meeting space and full-service catering provide venues for business planning and family celebrations large and small.
Fort Calgary continues a long-standing tradition of community involvement. For example, our Community Garden demonstrates ecological gardening techniques and provides volunteer and employment opportunities for community members. We donate the produce to local organizations assisting people in need.
