Happy Birthday to you!

Fort Calgary offers a fun and historic way to entertain your young birthday guests!

Imagine a typical day in the life of the NWMP at Fort Calgary. Dress up as a NWMP recruit, take the oath, learn to salute, march, and drill! Explore images of the mounted police: their work, their home, their horses, the land and people they protected. Hunt for John Smith, the notorious cattle thief, and put him in jail! Make a pill box hat and take it home as a souvenir.

The party also includes a nine minute video presentation of "Fort Calgary a Portrait", the use of our Mess Kitchen for birthday cake, etc and a birthday gift for the birthday child valued at $20.

Cost:    Members: $100 (maximum 12 children)
            Non-members: $125 (maximum 12 children)
            $5 each additional child

Summer Programs

Groups:

Explore Calgary's history through a fun and interactive museum tour. Dress up as Mounties, take the oath, learn to march, salute, and drill.

Length: 1 1/2 hours
Cost: $5.75/child age 7-17 or $3.75/child age 3-6.
Supervisors free (to a maximum of 1 adult per 6 children)
Minimum : 10 children or $57.50

Join the Ranks and experience a day in the life of an 1875 NWMP Officer. Learn to march, practice drills, take the oath and use your new skills to capture a whiskey trader and put him on trial. Uncover the story of Calgary’s only historic site with a hands-on archeological dig. Dress up and role play in historic costumes and meet some infamous Calgarians. Travel through time on the train to the West, settle in Calgary and build a log cabin. Enjoy indoor and outdoor historical activities, crafts, games while having lots of fun! Children are required to provide their own bagged lunch.

Cost:    Members $50.00, each additional child $30.00
            Non-Members $75.00, each additional child $30.00
            Available at no cost to Calgary fee assistance families.

Community Programs - Scouts & Guides

Fort Calgary offers programs for Girl Guides, Boy Scouts or other organized children's group for 10 to 20 children of all ages. Meet badge requirements, learn about Fort Calgary in a fun and interactive environment.

Program cost: $5.75 per child.
The minimum booking will be for 10 children ($57.00). Maximum group size is 20 participants.
Availability: Programs are offered on evenings and weekends.
