The Officers Mess at Fort Calgary [print friendly version]

Set up

  • Maximum capacity is 144 people.
  • Standard room set up is round tables of 8. Head table, gift, guest book, cake and DJ tables will be set up on request at no charge.
  • Rental includes standard set up and ivory linen, china, glassware, cutlery, and use of a podium and microphone for speeches. Background music is also available.

Decorating

  • Decorations are allowed at all events, however, we ask that the items not be attached to walls, or to other Fort Calgary property in any way that may result in damage. Use of tacks, staples, nails and certain kinds of tape is prohibited.
  • Existing décor may not be removed from the walls.
  • Paper and/or metallic confetti is not allowed and its use by a client or guest will result in cleanup charges.
  • Centrepieces are the client’s responsibility. Local fire regulations prohibit open flame candles. We allow enclosed candles but these are not permitted on staircases or window ledges.
  • Room availability for decorating will be no later than 9:00 am the day of the wedding. Earlier access may be possible but cannot be confirmed until one week prior to the event.

Catering

  • All food & beverage must be provided by Fort Calgary and is subject to 18% gratuity. Current menu’s and pricing is available on our website or we would be pleased to mail, email or fax the information.
  • You may provide your own special occasion cake/cupcakes. A fee of $1.00 per person will apply.

Other info

  • The rental fee is $500.00. A minimum food and beverage purchase of $4000.00 on peak dates is required.
  • All events with music will be charged the prevailing SOCAN fee.
  • GST will not be charged.
  • Guests will have complimentary access to the museum during the function.

The Deane House at Fort Calgary [print friendly version]

Please note that functions at the Deane House cannot begin before 5:00 pm.
The Deane House is not available for ceremonies or photos unless you are also booking your reception with us.

Set up

  • Maximum capacity is 54 people. This will allow all guests to be seated on the glassed in verandah.
  • Tables for guest book, gifts and cake will be provided on request at no charge.
  • Rental includes ivory linens, china, glassware & cutlery.
  • Chairs for outdoor ceremonies are not provided; Ceremonies taking place in the Captains Room will be offered chairs to the maximum capacity of 40 people.
