Fort Calgary

RCMP Veterans' Association - Calgary Division

Fort Calgary is extremely proud of our partnership with the RCMP Veterans. Fort Calgary is a physical reminder of the RCMP heritage and the Canadian West.

The RCMP Veterans support Fort Calgary during the tourist season by:

The RCMP Veterans also have a representative on the Fort Calgary Board of Directors and assist with fund raising for Fort Calgary. In the last few years, the RCMP Veterans have raised over $350,000 for new exhibits in the 1888 Barracks, the reconstruction of the 1875 Fort and education programs.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the RCMP Veterans' Association, the Veterans fundraised for a statue of Colonel Macleod that was erected in front of the 1875 Fort on September 1, 2005.

"The RCMP Veterans are proud to participate with Fort Calgary in the education of the public about our wonderful history." J.D. (Dal) Langenberger, President, RCMP Veterans' Association, Calgary Division.
