Fort Calgary is YOUR history.
Help us Connect Yesterday to Tomorrow.

Calgary has the extraordinary opportunity to build upon the actual site where the city was founded and to create a breath-taking green space in the midst of downtown. Few North American cities can access their physical beginnings, but Calgary’s foundation is preserved at Fort Calgary.

Fort Calgary is the only National, Provincial and Municipal Historic Site in the city. It cannot be duplicated or replicated because it is unique.

Owned by The City of Calgary and managed by the non-profit Fort Calgary Preservation Society, Fort Calgary has launched an $18 million capital campaign to restore the only remaining original buildings of the North West Mounted Police (NWMP) and Hudson’s Bay Company, to expand the present Interpretive Centre, and to create replicas and interpretive exhibits of the 1875 Fort and the 1914 Calgary Barracks era.
