Pre-booked group tours

When tours are pre-booked 48 hours or more in advance, an interpreter will give the group an introduction to Fort Calgary and the 1875 North West Mounted Police. The group may also view our 9 minute video presentation "Fort Calgary: A Portrait".

Tour Options

Your tour can include the following:

Viewing our 9 minute video “Fort Calgary: A Portrait”
Introduction to Fort Calgary with Interpretive Staff.
A self-guided tour of the 1875 Fort, a reconstruction built by our dedicated volunteers, using period tools and techniques.
A self-guided tour of the Interpretive Centre and the 1888 Barracks to explore Calgary’s history and hear stories from the 1875 – 1945 period.
A visit to our Mess Kitchen (1888 Barracks cafeteria) for a cup of coffee.
Opportunity to try on a Mountie uniform.
A walk in the park, along the scenic Bow and Elbow Rivers.
Time to explore the exhibits.
A visit to our Gift Shop.

For this total package, we recommend you schedule a minimum of 2 hours. If you have less time, our tour guide will customize the tour to meet the needs of your group, staying within your time limit.

Payment

We accept pre-approved vouchers, cash, traveler’s cheques, company cheques and major credit cards. Payment in full is expected on arrival, unless credit approval has been authorized. A deposit is required for meal service. We will contact you to arrange this when we receive your booking.
