Cultural Access Pass

You can pick up your Cultural Access Pass (CAP) at Fort Calgary. In order to process your pass, please bring the following:

  • Your original and physical citizenship certificate.
  • Original photo identification (of any type)
  • Code you were issued.

Getting here

Walking and Biking

Located along the RiverWalk, at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers, we are a short 10-minute walk from Calgary’s downtown core. If you are arriving by bike, you can access Fort Calgary by the RiverWalk and the 9th Avenue bike path.


If you are coming from the East, take 9th Avenue westward. Turn right at either entrance. If you are coming from the west, take 9th Avenue eastward. Turn left at either entrance.

Taking transit

The City Hall LRT station is three blocks west of Fort Calgary. This station is accessible by both the Red Line and Blue Line. You can also reach us by bus, via routes 1, 302 or 411. You can plan your visit via transit here:


Purchasing parking is easy at Fort Calgary with the ParkPlus app. You also can use the ParkPlus machines located outside the museum or the Virtual Pay system on the Calgary Parking Authority’s website. Please note that there will be 15-minute free parking with license plate registration.

Daytime (06:00 AM – 6:00 PM)*

$6.00 for the first 7 hours (minimum purchase $6.00), $2.00 per ½ hour thereafter to a maximum of $10.00. Visitors must pay at least $6.00, regardless of how long they stay, up to seven hours.

Evening (4:00 PM-6:00 AM)

$1.00 per 1/2 hour to a maximum of $4.00 (Minimum purchase $1.00).
*Daytime rates apply to all purchases made prior to 16:00 every day, and until 18:00.
